Your choice of payment
A seller may offer cash in addition to card payment, never instead of it. Cash is available only while Shukaroo enables this option and the seller allows it. Bank setup is still required before priced listings go live so buyers can always choose card payment. A card purchase continues under Shukaroo’s separate card-purchase terms and Buyer Protection.
Seller guarantee fee and the seller’s promise
The total shown when reserving is the full cash amount due to the seller at pickup. When the Seller guarantee fee is enabled, it is added to the listed item price or selected bundle price. The seller receives the item price and this fee; the fee is not paid to Shukaroo and is not Shukaroo’s card-payment Buyer Protection.
The Seller guarantee fee goes to the seller for their promise to handle any legally required refund promptly, smoothly and directly with the buyer, including for a faulty item or another serious issue. The seller must describe and supply the item accurately. Whether a refund is legally required, and its amount, depend on applicable law and the circumstances; other mandatory refund rights also remain unchanged.
When the Seller guarantee fee is disabled, no such fee is added: the cash total is only the listed item price or the price of the selected bundle items. The seller must still supply the item accurately and handle every legally required refund promptly and smoothly. Turning off the fee does not remove the seller’s legal duties or change card fees or card-purchase terms.
The Seller guarantee fee setting is separate from whether cash reservations are offered. A change affects new reservations only. An existing reservation keeps its agreed item price, fee and total even if either setting later changes; follow the amounts shown in that reservation.
Reservation and collection
Reserve now sends a request to the seller; it does not charge a card or record a cash payment. Once the seller confirms the exact amount and their cash-sale responsibilities, the private pickup address is available to the buyer. Arrange a suitable time together, inspect the item and pay the seller at pickup. Do not send an advance transfer in response to a cash reservation.
At handover the seller can show the pickup code for the buyer to enter, or the seller can record that they received the cash and handed over the item. This is a coordination record, not a Shukaroo receipt or verification of cash payment. Not entering a code does not cause an automatic cash charge, refund, penalty or relisting. Either participant may cancel an unfinished reservation; any cash already exchanged must be resolved directly and lawfully.
Bundles
The reservation records exactly the items selected and their agreed total. Individual selections use the listed individual prices. The original whole-bundle discount applies only when every original item is selected together; buying all remaining items after another item has sold does not recreate that discount. Cash responsibilities apply to every selected item.
Issues and legal rights
Shukaroo’s card-payment Buyer Protection, card refund process and payout dispute process do not apply to cash exchanged directly with a seller. Contact the seller first about the item or a cash refund. You can still report an unsafe or misleading listing to Shukaroo. Nothing in these terms excludes rights, remedies or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded, including any responsibility Shukaroo itself has under applicable law.
